Does the Rel 02 sleeve have more memory or something that the Rel 1? I've seen 6.1 systems on Rel 1 sleeves with no problems or glitches, but I know Nortel recommends a Rel 2 for 6.1 Just curious as to what the differences are as well.
Please, enlighten us.
It is safe to assume that we are all professionals with technical backgrounds.
We are capable of understanding complex terms such as "more memory" or "faster processing speeds" and even idiot proof terms such as "because Nortel's compatability guide says so".
If it is a compatablity issue, which releases of sw require the release 2 NVRAM? How was this determined? Through experience or perhaps the infamous compatablity matrix?
Most of Norstar's quirks are undocumented (to the general public anyways)
I have visted this many times and have no doubts as to your credentials.
From the "experience" side, I've installed a MICS once with 7.0, using a rls 1 NVRAM (misshipped by our supplier), and it simply wouldn't come up. I should have checked it out of the box, but I must have been having one of those days.
