My DVD drive won't play copy-protected DVDs using the subject graphics card . I've tried the both latest PowerDVD and WinDVD 2000 on a W2K Pro system and on an XP Pro system.

I get a 'tv-out' port isn't working' and the code F4D41436.

How can I disable TV-out ?

Any ideas?

JohnH

This from a Google search:
"ERROR CODE:F4D41437 - F4D41436
The TV out port of your TV display card is not working properly. This copy protected disc cannot be played when the TV out port is being utilised.
We suggest you update your video drivers to the latest version."
Do you have the latest Nvidia drivers?
Jim

Please come back and let us know if your
problem is fixed and what fixed it!! [thumbsup2]

THanks for the reply Jim.

I did that Google search as well. I've found several users who report this problem.

I do have the latest drivers from NVIDIA.

It does seem that the problem is local to Geforce 2 cards. I've also now tried the NVDVD software . THat gives the report: 'Macrovision Distribution Failed' whatever that means!

John.

if its a problem you cant fix, and you really want to watch that movie, then you can just use some third party software to extract the movie onto the hard drive, removing the macrovision protection, and watching the movie like that. you could also try other programs.

another problem might be the capture drivers. i had the same problem but with ati so im not sure if it applies to nvidia. mayb you have to install the lastest capture drivers as well. just a thought. good luck.

Hi,

I have a Geforce2 MX-400 with tv-out. My DVD player is a Lite-on.

I don't have any problems playing DVD's with the freeware Fusionsoft DVD-player. try it. It's for free and easy to use. No configuration required.

Hi Psycho,

I downloaded that fusionthing and gave it a whirl..
Got the message "Your system doesn't satisfy the requirements of Macrovision" This really looks like a problem on the card don't you think?

JohnH...

After many hours of searching Nvidia's website, Samsung and PowerDVD's website I've finally finished solving the same problem with my Samsung DVD player and my GeForce3 TI-200. I actually found the resolution from doing a "Google Search" using the error code# f4d41436.
I went to a website called
and found out that my newest GeForce video drivers (41.09)were the problem. I also tried some registry tweaks they recommended first which didn't fix my problem, but didn't create any new ones either. Thank God for Google!
