Hi All,
Hope someone can cast a bit of light on my AGP problem. I have been running a nVidia GeForce2 Mx/Mx400 32Mb PCI card. I upgraded today to a nVidia GeForce FX5600 128Mb AGP Card. Trouble is nothing is happening, I mean Nothing, apart from the fan on the GPU is spinning. There is no signal to my monitor, no system error bleeps from the speakers-Nothing. When I put the PCI card back it fires up no problem. I have been into the bios and changed setting to allow AGP and primary graphics. Dont know if the AGP card is compatable with my Mobo SY-7VCA. The board specs say it is 1x 2x 4x card is 8x (I think) but I thought these were backward compatible??? Running XP Pro, PIII 866mhz, 512MB Sdram, Any help or info would be very much appreciated.
Thanks
John

Remove and reseat the video card making sure it's fully seated. Sometimes they need a healthy push to fully seat.

If no luck, then see if it works in another system.
If it does, then either it may not be compatible with your MB, or your power supply may have insufficient capacity to run it.

If it does not work in another system, then the card may be defective.

Hi Thanks Ski, Tried re-seating Card, no different. Going to try in another system and hope for the best.
Thanks for your help.
