Can anyone help me figure out the best settings for my video card which is the geforce fx 5200. I have a 1.5 ghz pentium 4 with 1 gb ram but a fairly slow dsl connection(around 350 kb/s). I figured I'd be able to turn the graphics way up on my Halo game but it gets pretty choppy all the way up. I don't know what half the things on the card even mean like anisotropic filtering and antialiasing. Is it better to turn the graphics card to best performance and turn the graphics up in the game or turn the card up to best quality and turn the graphics down in the game? I would appreciate some tips for best performance and quality.

Unfortunately the FX5200 is at the very bottom of the food chain...

Anisotropic filtering and antialiasing (AA & AF) are features that give you better quality at the sacrifice of performance. Keep them turned off with the FX5200.

But the bottom line is, if you want better performance in DirectX 9 based games, you will have to upgrade. For now, do make sure you have the latest nVidia drivers, the 5x.xx version drivers made much improvement in DirectX 9 performance over the version 4x.xx drivers.
