Hi,

My customer is quite forthcoming in the fact that he wants dual hdd on his hp proliant server for his nupoint. if i remember correctly, when you try and license this server it will think it is trying to be a 640 and kick it out?

can someone confirm this please?

Thanks
MM

Hi matey

Had a similar issues a year or 2 back and got caught out. Big time. Its a quirk of Nupoint install, why I don't know.

Check the Mitel approved hardware list for nupoint installations (MOL).

The hardware specs for 640 install are quite different & specific to the standard nupoint install.

What happens during the nupoint install phase, it checks / reviews the server hardware, down to HDD controllers, interface type (Sata / Pata / raid etc) and determines from this what version of nupoint you can install and you don't get a choice afterwards.

We had to physoically remove the pata raid controller from the HP server, replace drives with sata versions and attached sata leads to the motherboard sata interface before the nupoint install would recognise it as a standard install.

Great!!

The server is on the list I think they've just ordered extra drives.

Will find out tomorrow.

Thanks.
MM
