HELP....I'm trying to get my # key working to bypass a user greeting and get straight into being able to leave a message in their personal mailbox. I've got the latest software release on both MAS/Nupoint & MiVoice. I'm using a FCOS 31 as the user has SMTP I've checked through my FCOS and can't find an option bit to enable that feature. When I select the # key now after I first hear the users greeting I get rerouted to the Auto Attendant Greeting. I don't see a system option, not sure where else it would be. Any suggestions appreciated!

I believe * is what your looking for.
If you want to use # you have to use a call director and either go to mailbox or message center depending on what you want to do.

I will look this up for you. There is a option to enable this - at least there was.

By default you have to press 1 to bypass a greeting in NuPoint and go straight to the beep and start recording your message.

I'll come right back to you on this.

Found it - Turns out its a setting in the Nupoint configuration.
Under the Line group/voicemail options tab the - Allow dial an extension for callers and users should not be selected.
We removed those and now any key works to bypass the greeting.
Thanks for your help!

Can anyone weigh in on what we lose by configuring this way?

I think in this day and age with Call Director pretty much standard, the option to Dial extensions from the mailbox level is redundant. In fact, it may only apply to line groups that are setup for receptionist.

I've been turning on this option since the Eighties (yes 1980's, Centigram 4.0). If it doesn't serve a purpose, it makes sense to have something useful instead.
