We have been asked to get a Octel voice mail converted to NuPoint the lines that the OCtel handle are Analog Centrex lines. I beleive I can get it to work but am wondering what wil be needed to get Message lamping/Stutter dialtone activated. Anyone ever tackled something like this?

The latest Nupoint product is IP conly. You need PIMG or TIMG boxes to convert analog to IP. The Nupoint still supports Centrex integration so you should be able to replace the Octel. What is the voicemail connected to? Would you be able to abandon the Centrex lines in favour of straight IP? The PIMG and TIMG units are kind of pricy.

I'd tell you a UDP joke but I'm afraid you won't get it. TCP jokes are the best because you always get them.

Waaaaaay back, I set up a Centrex Integration. The system required a data connection via RS232 (much like a Modem) to handle the messaging.

Inbound data would have ringing port and caller ID
Outbound data for Message Waiting Control
