NuPoint RTP issue with SIP and IP trunks

I have the following scenario I am looking for some help

MiVB 7.1 (13.1.0.33)
NuPoint 14.2.2.15
2 branch locations connected to MiVB through MPLS network, with Cisco SPA8800 Gateways for connection to PSTN
6 branch locations with SX200ICP connected to MiVB with IP trunks

locations with SPA8800 unable to leave Voicemail when calling through PSTN trunk connected to SPA8800, customer calls into VM after 20 sec or so, Nupoint says "nothing recorded" so Nupoint is not receiving audio from SIP gateway. This is occurring on both SPA8800 locations

PSTN > SIP > NuPoint = no audio received at NuPoint
PSTN > SIP > Local IP Phone = ok
Remote IP Phone > NuPoint = ok

Remote IP phones(5330e) and SPA8800 are in same subnet at remote locations, NuPoint and MiVB are in same subnet at main office, Both remote subnets (with SPA8800) are set as local networks on the NuPoint

> I found SPA8800s were configured for Symmetric RTP, changed to Asymmetric and 1 location problem solved, other loaction issue is still present.
> Changed back to Symmetric RTP in SPA8800, changed the Media Service to Variable packet rate, Audio works through both SPA8800, however all SX200ICPs connected through IP trunks, DTMF now no longer works, it will not recognize any digit pressed. (SX200icp subnets are not in local network of NuPoint)

Any suggestions how i can fix the DTMF issue for the sx200icps when the nupoint is set for Variable packets or why i would be having an issue with RTP at one location with SIP and not the IP phones but the other site has a similar set up and not having an issue?
 
Are you sure the sx200 worked before? I seem to remember that dtmf will not work over IP trunks.
