Nupoint Problem

I've got the following problem.

I have two sites, site a and b

Both sites a and b are Mxe controllers, 7.1 software.

Both sites are linked via IP trunks.

Both sites have their own incoming trunks.

Both sites have their own Nupoint voicemail system.

Incoming calls for site b are routed over the IP trunks and answered by a 5550 console at site a.

Everything works fine apart from this scenario.

If a caller calls the site b number, the call is answered by the operator at site a.
If the person the caller wants is not available, the operator asks if the caller wants to be put through to voicemail.
If the caller says yes, the operator dials the voicemail number for site b, presses the tones key, inputs the mailbox number required and presses the release key.

The problem is that maybe 1 call in four, rather than getting the required greeting gets only silence. I have made many test calls and have reproduced the fault. When i get the fault and press the * key I am prompted with the person's name and "please enter your passcode", so I know i am actually in the mailbox required.

Has anyone else experienced this issue?

My initial thought is the VoIP trunks. Sounds like one way audio. kwbMitel and I had the same problem with the 200ICP and embedded VM. kwbMitel found the issue was with an incorrect gateway (router) address in one of the units. This is where I would first look.

Other questions would be:
1) In your tests, are you calling the same extension number/mailbox on the other machine and then getting the intermittant failure?

2) Does the receptionist see a pattern with one or two specific mailboxes, or is it random?

3) any reports of internal calls between sites experiencing one way audio?

4) Does it ever happen the other way around?
