Hi all,

I wondered if anyone can confirm the ports and process that NuPoint uses to activate/deactivate MWI's using Mitai Messaging.

When a vmail is left, does NuPoint talk to the MiVB via Mitai port 8000 (or 8001), which in turn uses Mitai to contact the IP phone and activate the MWI?

Thanks.

you need a hunt group set as HCI
this is rerouted to the NUpoint Vmail pilot
it is also assigned into the nupoint programming
The Nupoint tells the pabx to use this to set a MW indicatior and then when the call is returned the reroute sends it back to the huntgroup

why are you asking about specific ports , i there a firewall between them?

If I never did anything I'd never done before , I'd never do anything.....

Thanks for your response. Yes there is a firewall between them. The customer has two levels of security depending on how "trusted" the server or device is. A bit of an overkill in my opinion. They have their corporate firewall and the MiVB's and MiCollab sit behind this. Then there is an internal firewall and the IP handsets sit behind this.
I provided the firewall team the Mitel docs for all the required ports and I wanted to confirm if The MiVB or NuPoint used port 8000 or 8001 to turn the MWI on the handset as they weren't seeing any traffic from the MiVB to IP Handset.
