We have MCD 4.1 with MAS 2.0, NuPoint 14.0.1, Exchange SBS 2003 and Blackberry Enterprise Server 4.1

We're trying to get voicemails delivered to the BB's and sync with the NuPoint. Advanced UM is licensed and on in FCOS, confirmed mbox has all needed licenses and features, properly configured the username/pw for Advanced UM, etc. MAPI is being used as the protocol in Adv UM and pointed at the Exchange IP.

Voicemails get delivered to Outlook client no problem, sync is all good from there. Blackberries get nothing, otherwise they get and sync email just fine.

Mitel docs says to install the MAPI GW on a separate server. Is this really necessary and if the Exchange server sync voicemails fine with Outlook why not VM's??

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks!

I have the same problem as I have the same setup with NuPoint, Exchange 2007, BPS 4.1.4 and MAPI Gateway. The voicemail will eventually deliver to BB but it may take up to 30min. I disabled IMAP in my exchange and still not work. However, if you forward the voicemail message in Outlook to yourself, it will sync to BB right the way. BB Support said it is IMAP vs MAPI problem. Someone will help me to change a few settings and let you know if it's working.

I got it working the same as you. Messages can take a long while before appearing on BB's. Also, the MAPI GW would sometimes stop for no obvious reason and I'd have to re-enter the credentials for the service (npumadmin superuser) to get going again. Even then, a NP reboot was sometimes required to make everything work. Very buggy!

I'm installing the latest version of NP which has the following new feature as part of MAS 2.1:

• BlackBerry® Enterprise Server Support: NuPoint UM Release 4.1 supports Blackberry users who connect to MS Exchange or Lotus Domino mail servers. NuPoint UM mailbox programming and Web View Personal Settings now include configuration to enable Blackberry users.

I'm not certain if this means that the MAPI GW goes away but we'll see, it would be nice! My understanding is that the GW is necessary because of its Microsoft proprietary nature and it needing to reside on a Windows machine.
