I've looked through the documentation for this but can't find anything. I want to say when I took the training for this, I remember something about a max of 300 or 350 nupoint users on the MAS server. Does this sound familiar to anyone. Or does anyone know if there is a max user count.

Knowledge Base Article 09-1263-00030

Effective Tuesday June 16th, the AMC will auto-calculate the quantity of ports to license and enable on the MAS-Nupoint application at the rate of 6 ports + 1 port for every 20 voice mailboxes.

Example 1: A MAS deployment with 40 voice mailboxes purchased will get
automatically allocated 6+2 = 8 ports that can be used to interconnect
with the 3300 or 5000 PBX.

Example 2: A MAS deployment with 120 voice mailboxes purchased will get
automatically allocated 6+6 = 12 ports.

Example 3: A MAS deployment with 125 mailboxes purchased will get
automatically allocated 6+7 = 13 ports.

Example 4: A MAS deployment with 520 mailboxes purchased will get
automatically allocated 6+26 = 32 ports.

Example 5: A MAS deployment with 640 mailboxes purchased will get
automatically allocated 6+26 = 32 ports.

Example 6: A MAS deployment with the maximum 1000 mailboxes purchased
will get automatically allocated 32 ports (note the cap at 32 ports).

What makes you think that you have time to fix it?

We need to be clear on whether we are talking about a Standalone sytem or part of the Application Suite.

MAS 1.2 indicates to me that we are talking about the Application Suite.

If it is Apps Suite, then we need to know if it is on an AWC card or a server.

Definately on the Application Suite server. Thats why im worried about the nupoint limitations. There would probably only be teleworker, mobile ext, and nupoint installed on the MAS server.

According to the Engineering Guide:

For a Multi-App External Server:
- 500 NP-UM Users
- 100 Advanced & Standard UM Users
- Max 3 SoftFax Ports

CX/CXi With APC
- 150 NP-UM voice mail users
- 30 Advanced & Standard UM Users
- Maximum 1 SoftFAX port

The 1000 Users that Paterson mentions above is for a Dedicated External Mid-Range Server

Maybe I need to re-read the 1.2 UR1 docs but I thought I saw 1000 users...
I'll check

Dave

You can't believe anything you read... unless of course it's this.

From 1.2 UR1 Eng guide midrange server:

Assumptions
Total users, of which

100% (1000) are NP-UM Messenging IP voice mail users, of which a maximum of 200 users have Advanced Unified Messaging with Text-to-speech.

30% (300) are Teleworker users

30% (300) are Mobile Extension users

Hold time average: 100 seconds per call, equal distribution of incoming and outgoing calls (except where noted differently)

No compression (G.711 only)
A change in the numbers for any area shown in
Table 8: Maximum System Capacity: Mid-Range Server - Full Bundle (External Server)
Software Package
Number of Users
Simultaneous Voice Connections
Calls per Hour (CPH)
Avg Hold Time (sec)
Compression
Total Users: 1000 (See Note 1)
32 ports
400 CPH
100 sec
G.711 only
MAS Multi-App Base (Full Package) or MAS Messaging/
1000 NP-UM voice mail users
200 Advanced & Standard UM Users
6 TTS Ports
400 CPH
100 sec
G.711 only

Sorry about the mess...
Midrange server though...
A nice HP DLXXX with raid drives should be no problem.

CanuckVoip,

Check your numbers again.

The engineering guide clearly states 1000 users when only using Nupoint.

For Multi-App Applications it states the values I quoted above.

This scenario is a Multi-App.

Not sure if I'm on glue or what... :>)
But, went back to the doc and saw:
System Performance
Maximum System Capacity
The following tables show the maximum system capacity for MAS running on:

a mid range server (HP DL360 or equivalent) (Table 8)

an entry level server (Table 9)

an APC card in a 3300 CX or CXi II controller (Table 10)

Followed by my previous post...

Is it the UR1 doc you're looking at?
This stuff I posted started on page 30 of the UR1 ENG docs.

For mas that is...
What doc are you reading?

Either way. looks like I got my answer.....with 600+ users im gonna stick to a stand alone server just to give it some room to grow.

I guess it is me who should re-read. Sorry.

Table 8 is split onto 2 pages making it appear as a single app config if you don't look carefully enough.

So Cknipe,

You can get up to 1000 users with Multi-App (Sorry) as long as the server is up to the task.

The HP DL360 is only 1 of about 50 or so servers that are supported.

If you do not have access to Mitel E-Docs let me know which vendor you prefer and I'll post the list of their servers

HP
IBM
Dell
Sun

I would also need to know if you will be installing the newest version of MAS (9.0)
