Hi all,
I am trying to create a table with phone numbers but every time I put in the numbers, it drops the first number in the string i.e., 0208 changes to 208. Ideally I dont want to add a character like a # before the number.

Many thanks in advance

John

You can do one of two things (assuming you are using Excel):

1. Use the PHONE format under the SPECIAL option through FORMAT CELL, or;

2. Start the entry of a phone number with a ' (single quote). This will place the text after it, '0208 as a literal, but you will not see the single quote, so it will to all intents and purposes look like a phone number. The only thing with adding a single quote is that it left justifies the text rather than right if it were a straight number. If you are not bothered about that, fine, but otherwise you can of course justify the text as you see fit.
