Good afternoon, I'm only trying to display the number of rows that are being displayed in a report. I have been punting around t'Interweb and the nearest I have got is
NumberOfRows(dp)

where dp is
"The data provider"

This actually doesn't make any sense to me. I also think it would be useful if the result would appear in a separate box towards the top of the report.

I have saved the query as
"Des April"
and the report is just sitting there as
"Report 1"

PLEASE HELP!!!!!

Many thanks,
D€$

Well, using
Count([Local Patient ID])
gives me the number of unique Patient ID's that have been pulled out from the data but this still doesn't tell me the actual number of (unique) rows that have been retrieved. And it certainly doesn't change if I apply any filters to the report.

Many thanks,
D€$

Hi Skip, I've just switched jobs and have had a whole TWO DAYS training in Business Objects - Version 12.4.0. With no literature nor follow-up contacts! I've created a query in BO that has produced a report and, being used to "proper" programs, think it should be possible to be given some clue as to how many rows of data have been produced. I have managed to add another column and used this formula:

=RunningCount([Local Patient ID])

If I go to the final page I can see the final number in that inserted column and it will tell me the number of rows. This also shows the correct number if I filter the output.

I did manage to copy the "Report Title" box and that was where I placed the Count([Local Patient ID]) formula, so at least I've achieved that! :)

Many thanks,
D€$

I never preceeded very far into BO before retiring.

I was always able to get better results querying data sources directly.

But management was pushing to get ALL reporting in BO.

Trouble was I was doing analysis & reporting.

Glad I'm out now!

Hi Skip, I read a post of yours just now from back in 2012 and you said it was coming in then. Not to worry. I've found some other stuff, page numbering, this afternoon so I might strike lucky. I'm not overly impressed with BO mind you.

Many thanks,
D€$

Well, I found that the
"Count()"
reflects the reduced number of rows when using "Drill" but you can only choose one value at a time so that's pretty cack as well. I can see I'm going to have SOOOOO much fun with Business Objects! :(

Many thanks,
D€$
