How do I add line numbering to the details section that resets for each group?
 
Sort by date Sort by votes
Use the running total expert to create a running total. Select a recurring field, e.g., {table.ID}, count, evaluate for each record, reset on change of group.

I don't know if I have a "running total expert". Is it called something else? I am on version 8.5. Sorry to be a pain, but could you explain it a little more in depth?

You do have it in Crystal 8.5.

Crystal Reports Menu:

Insert/Field Object/Running Total/New and follow Lbass directions above.
