Numbering detail items 1

How can I go about numbering the items in the detail section of a report next to the item. I want it to look like this:

(1) Butter
(2) Milk
(3) Bread

Hopefully that explains what I want. Thank you in advance
 
Sort by date Sort by votes
Add an unbound text box to your detail section. Then set the Control Source property of the text box to "=1" and set the Running Sum property to "Over All
