When setting up a new IP Office are there any extension or system number conflicts like there on some other systems. For example should the extension numbers only start with 2xxx or 3xxx etc. Should they be 2 or 3 digits long?

Thank you

They typically can be anything that dosen't start with a 0 or 9, and is between 3 (though 2 also works) and 9 digits.

In the UK, don't use anything starting with 1. These are reserved in the network. The IPO will let you do it and it doesn't cause an issue until you try dial things like 112 for the emergency services!!!

just make sure you set "Dial Digit Count" correctly
it should be at lease 1 greater than the maximum number of digits dialed internally.

I recently replaced an old system where the customer has extns 2xx but retained their old speedial numbers as 2XXX

Dial Digit Count set to 5, no problems.
