I have it programmed to send base with extension #
I entered the area code, prefix and the next digit (since they have 3 digit extensions).

Looks like 214 243 6
When they make a outgoing call it is not inserting the extension. Provider is only seeing 7 digits comming out of the Merlin.

What am I missing??

For the base number, enter all 10-digits 214 243 6000 (or whatever the main number is). The legend/magix will then replace the 000 with the extension number it is calling from.

Telecomboy is correct. The "Number-to-Send" feature is very limited on the Legend/Magix switches. If you have any NON DID stations in your system, those digits will be used for the "Number-to-Send" when placing calls. So be careful about your station assignments. To get a good over view about this you might want to read the Feature Reference document. It is free for the download from support.avaya.com Also searching PRI on this forum will be provide you with mucho info on this subject since it is a very popular one.

Hope this helps!

Here's another little CAVEAT to consider.

I have set these up to send "BASE NUMBER PLUS EXTENSION" and if those two things didn't match an incoming D-I-D that the vendor was providing, the call WOULD NOT GO THROUGH.

So, be careful of that as well.

I wouldn't worry about it. If it happens at all, it is so rare as to make it insignificant as a concern for using the BASE + Extension format.

Some providers are pickier than others. But, if the FCC ever get around to requiring more stringent enforcement with service providers that could change! The scams are way out of hand...
