Number of outgoing emails in green in Outlook2k3

We have a message stuck in the outbox in Outlook 2003 (XP Pro)

Whereas in the mail folders box you usually have a number (blue, in brackets) alongside each box saying how many unread emails there are, we have a green number (1) in green square brackets.
And it's not sending, though other emails are.

Ideas?

copy past the contents of that mail in a new one and delete the 'stuck' one, then send again and watch WHY is does not go.
