Hi,
Can we have more than one iqd in a model? If so, how and why do we need more than one?

Thanks

{on the basis that you are referring to PowerPlay Transformer}
Yes.
Right-click in the data source window and choose "Insert Data Source"
Usually to bring in label data and reduce cube size, but also to bring in measures from other sources. For example, in a sales model, you might have a sales iqd with customer account number. A separate iqd for customers will allow you to label customer account number with the customer name or perhaps to allocate for customer type. An example of multiple measure sources would be adding a budget iqd to a sales model to display both sales and budget and determine variance.
You may find the documentation supplied with Cognos to be of use here (all pdfs in the documentation folder of the install) - there are a couple of chapters on practical use of the application that cannot realistically be covered in a thread like this.
The skill in using Transformer comes from considering the logical connection between data to provide what the report users need and what they didn't know they needed, but benefit from. That makes the positive ROI!
