Hi all!

Is there a way to set the number of file descriptors per process? Rather than the total number of descriptors?

I'm quite sure there isn't, I know this is changeable in solaris..

Thanks in advance!

The number of file descriptors per process is determined by the operating system parameter open_max. The default value of open_max is 32767.

To obtain the current value of the open_max parameter, use the Korn or Bourne shell ulimit command:

ulimit -n
