hello, i just would like to ask if you have any ideas as to how many shades of colors from the #000000 to #ffffff? any help would be much appreciated. thnx folks!

That's the number that I came up with as well.

Surely you have a windows calculator?? Just pull it up, make sure it's in scientific mode, click on the hex radio button, type in FFFFFF, and then click back over to the dec radio button. It'll convert the hex value for you. And of course you'll need to add 1 to the value to count for 000000.

Given that there are 256 possible values from 00-FF, and there are 3 sets of colours, I'd have thought the answer would be simple to work out - 256 * 256 * 256 = 16777216.

Of course, when you say "from", if you mean "between", then you'd need to take 2 off of that.

Is it the number of the devil? I feel like something big and important will come out of this...

Maybe this question should have been asked in the STC forum (forum1229) - it's more for maths questions *shrug*

Although... since 666 goes into 16777216 just over 25191 times... and into that, just under 38 times - it must be the work of the beast himself. Egads, man! We're all doomed!
