Num Lock

I teach in a middle school computer lab wehre the students' password is their student ID number. Somewhere along the line while "Ghost" images were beinig created, the "Num Lock" does not turn on when the PC first starts. You can imagine with the attention span of middle school students how many problems arise during logon the server.

The techs did try to make a change in the BIOS but that did not work. We are using Windows XP Pro.

Please provide as many suggestions as possible because we are getting ready to reimage again and I would like this problem solved.
