Ok, got access to some skill soft classes for the CCVP. Got to a slide and I'm thinking it's a problem in the slide.
Config:
num-exp 1... 913125550...

Dialed number = 0123

It is saying that the dialed number will be expanded to 13125550123.

My question is wouldn't the dialed number have to begin with a 1 in order for it to match the num-exp command?

Just not wanting to be confused later. Been noticing some cosmetic mistakes already in the course, but this one seems bad to me. Unless I'm out of it today.

if you dial 1xxx then it would translate to 13125551xxx

LV(config)#num-exp 1... 13125551...

to test do this

show dialplan number 1111

That's what I was thinking but wanted some verification. Wanted to be certain the 1 didn't act like some sort of wildcard. Seemed funny that it would, but still new to it, and didn't want to be wrong come test time.

Thanks

Well, been finding more mistakes like this in the CVoice course. I'm sure it's just some typo's but really makes for some confusion going through the course. Just glad I still had the email address for one of the instructors so I emailed him about it. I knew there was a reason I kept that guy in my contacts list.

The best way to verify these problems is to setup a lab and test everything in question... Nothing beats hands on experience!!!!!

No argument there from me. Also helps to look it all up on Cisco's website as well for further answers.
