Nulll Values plotted as zeros

Can anyone tell me how to get a crystal line chart to not plot null values as zeros? I've gone into report options and options and ensured that the 'convert null value to default' is not checked. I assumed this would take care of the nulls being interpreted as zeros...but not the case on the line chart.

I have some data that is plotted over time. Sometimes dates are missing so rather than plot zero (which is confusing and wrong), I'd like the line chart ot break and then restart when an empty date is encountered.

I suspect this is related to the fact that the line chart is plotting the sum of the value which appears to evaluate to zero on the dates where there is no data.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

One solution might be to get your data from a formula field which will remove the records with null values. That way instead of having this as a chart:

--#--#-\#/-#--#

youd have
--#--#----#--#

(the # represent the points of data on the line, the \/ represents the line dropping to zero)

That way there would simply be a point missing on your line, and the chart (should) continue the line through to the next point. This won't get it to break then continue I'm afraid.
