Null Value when adding data

Question, is there a way to sum values in columns when there are some with null values in them? I have tried this and my output is null as a sum when null values are in certain cells I am sum or adding up? Does anyone know how I could get around this? I am not able to turn off null values in these certain fields within the table without an error. Is there a way I can get SQL to just add the colums with numeric data in it and omit the null values?

Any help would be appreciated.

just use NVL() function to to operations on NULL values - - here u can give default values to these NULL values also
