1. Run the subreport and see if any dat is returned.
2. Create a shared var based on a specific data result, and pass it over to the main report to indicate it is empty.
3. Look at the report when it is run, and see if the sub is returning data.
bobPV is right. The only thing I can add is that you should put your sub-report in a sub-section and then form the sub-report to "underlay following sections" in the section expert. Or you may have to have two versions of the sub-report: One to decide if it is null and one to actually print it. You would use a shared variable from the first to decided if you want to suppress the section with the second.
