I'm running Win XP on a Fujitsu C2310 notebook computer with a Pentium processor. I recently switched from dialup to DSL Internet access. When I'm on-line, or when Windows thinks I should be or want to be on-line, the dialup window comes up automatically, offering to dial up and connect me to the Internet, even if I'm already there. I close the dialer, and it comes up a few minutes later. Is there a way to stop this without deleting the dialer?

You have an application that is configured to dial a connection whenever it is initialized.

The next time it happens, see which application just started. Check out the configuration options for that application and you should be able to locate a setting in there somewhere that tells the app to dial the internet if no internet connection is already connected.

Good luck.
