I've got my mailbox running on NU-Point v12 and I want to create a custom call menu. I have an FCOS with option 292 (Enable NP Director) selected, & can log into to web version and create the call flow. Although when I dial into the mailbox and press * to try and record the greeting, the voice says 'I don't understand that command'.

Anyone got any ideas what may be causing this?

Cheers

Do you have enough CD licenses to cover the mailboxes you have CD enabled on? Have you defined a line group for CD and you're calling into the MB on that line group?

Yes, check that you have enough licenses, but you will also need to update the call director database once you have assigned the license.

There is an option via the text menu to refresh the call director tables. Can't remember exactly where sorry. I have found that when all else is correct the table refresh is sometimes required to kickstart it.

I've got enough CD licenses for all users on the system. I've also got a line group with one line in reserved for CD. How do I assign it to the FCOS? Cheers for the help so far guys!

Once you have created a new FCOS with bit 292 in, assign this to a voicemail box. Once assigned, update the Call director database, by:

1. log into the Shell
2. Select - S,R,H
3. Type - Y (To confirm update)

**If you forget to perform this action, it will not work, but it will update a midnight anyway**

Once this has been done, you will be able to configer CD for that mailbox, through the web page.

Hope this helps

I've done the above although after dialling into my mailbox, I still get 'I don't understand that command' when I press *. I can edit on the web version although it just doesn't come active.

Is there anything really obvious that I'm missing? I have never used Nu-Point apart from in the past 2 weeks so I've prob missing a really basic step!

You say that you have enabled Call director on your main line group.

If this is so, you should have in you 'linegroup only applications' for your main line group the letter 'C' next to 'User Interface'

If this is set to 'V', then CD is not enabled.

Also, when you dial into the voicemail box, you should input you passcode and then press *, this should then enter you into the CD or say that CD is enabled on this mailbox.

Let me know how you get on

You Legend!! Working fine. Thanks a lot mate

New Problem - The ports just stopped answering. I had to change the option from C back to V and reboot. Anyone had this before?

I've just bravley re-enabled the option and seemed ok, although the message lamps stopped being sent to all phones. Do you have to enable message lamp sending when using the call director user interface?

What type of message waiting are you using.

If Mitai, then you should be OK. I suspect something else is being used.

This normally happens when the main line group is changed, from 'NUPOINT VOICE' to something else.

On your main line group ensure that you have it setup like the following:

Group #1 lines = [NUPOINT VOICE]

Linegroup Only Applications
---------------------------
(G) Group selected = [1]
(U) User Interface = [c]
(E) Enhanced Inband
(P) Pager
(R) NP Receptionist
(V) NuPoint Voice
(W) Disable
(X) Exit

APPL:

Under (U), this should be set to 'C' for Call Director
The heading should have 'Group #1 lines = [NUPOINT VOICE]'

Anything else, the ports will just ring.

hope this helps

Thanks Mitel100 - Will try tomorrow.

kwbMitel - I'm using DTMF to PBX. Is Mitai better?

Mitai is better if your integration is IP and you're connected to a 3300.

If not IP (as with DTMF to PBX) then the message port must be dedicated. Check your line groups that you were changing earlier and make sure you did not mistakenly change the message group port(s) at the same time.

I've just setup Mitai MWI and re-enabled the changes. All seems well.

Thanks for all the help guys!
