One of these files gets created after every update, it seems. If you have no intention of uninstalling the update, is there any reason to keep these files? Some are fairly large.

They can be deleted but as you say this will remove the ability to uninstall that particular update should the need arise.

One solution would be to make a backup copy of them on a CD before deleting them, just incase.
