Ok, so I finally got this switch upgraded and decided it was time to set up a NTP because I am tired of the time getting out of whack. Soooo, into EM I go, and I configure it to a NTP, which is giving me the right time!!! YEAHHHH (I thought) So, today I come into work and my 2616 on my desk is still lagging. Soooo into the switch I go, I jump into LD 2, do my ttad, and see it is still lagging. So, I think the NTP must be off. So, back into EM I go and low and behold, it is actually right there. So, now I am all sorts of confused. So much in fact, that I took a screen shot and am posting it so you can see what I mean.

Crazy switch . . . Any ideas?

Are your BWTM and FWTM options set in LD 2?

I'm not familiar with release 7.0 yet, but the screenshot you posted looks like the NTP configuration page for one of my 6.0 signaling servers, and not the Time and Date page from the Call Server element manager.

If you click the sync now button, does the time on the switch 'true-up' to the current time, or does it still remain behind?

BWTM and FWTM are not set in 2.

If I click Sync up it doesn't actually sync the switch time . . . :(

Like I said, I'm not familiar with R7, but in earlier releases, you had to make sure the Daylight Savings BWTM and FWTM options were configured, SDST needed to be on, and then everything got configured via element manager.

Can you log into the CLI and in LD 117 stat ntp? That should show you what the pbx is actually using for ntp settings.

Strange . . . . this in't my NTP Server . . so I need to do more configuring in LD2?

Code:
=> stat ntp

That IP should be your signaling server.

In the element manager under tools -> time and date, if you edit the NTP settings, down near the bottom should be clock source checkbox, and External NTP server address fields.

The Signaling Servers sync with your external NTP servers, and the call server syncs from the signaling server.

That error is:

NTP is disabled cannot synchronize.
Enable NTP to synchronize with the NTP server.
Severity: Info

You have the settings correct for NTP to work on your signaling server.

Now you need to configure the call server to use those NTP settings for the system clock.

In Release 6 in Element Manager, under the Tools heading of the menu tree on the left of the web page is an entry for Date and Time. This is where the Call Server time reference is configured.

The screenshot you are posting is from the UCM base system Date and Time configuration page.

In the UCM Manager, you should have all of the elements that are registered to your security domain listed. You should also have links to your PBX element managers.

The PBX element manager is where you need to go to configure the call server to recognize your NTP.

I can't seem to figure it out. My SS is set right, but for some reason it won't sync with the EM . . . I can't figure it out. It won't even let me go back in and manually adjust it. It keeps telling me NTP is turned on and it won't let me undo it. It doesn't save when I uncheck and hit save.

The top screenshot is the correct place.

Can you click on the edit button across from the Network Time Protocol heading? (2 edit buttons down from the hi-lited one)?

Well . . . . . ALLL BEEE . . .I just looked down and they are sync'ed now. I don't know how and would really like to understand this more.
