Am trying to add a 512mb of pc133 to my GA-7ZX board. After I add the memory and restart, the initial screen shows my new memory count. When windows 98 begins to start I get an NTKERN Windows Protection error, it then tells me to restart. I have tried restarting in Safe Mode.....no good. This is the second stick of brand new 512mb I have tried to install. So I am pretty sure the memory is okay. Thanks, GC

Does your old memory work fine? Just because this is the second stick of RAM you got does not mean its not bad. Unlikely that it is but it is still possible. James Collins

Yes, The old memory works fine. I have a 128mb and a 64mb stick. I have moved them all around so I know that the slots are ok. And as I said prior when I first boot up the memory is recognized, it passes the memory check.

Doesthe 512 work ok without any other RAM installed? James Collins

Then Either The RAM is bad or your board does not support the RAM. What does your Mainboard book state? I would try another stick (again). Check to see if your BIOS needs updated to support it. But the web site for it says it supports up to 1.5gig. Well I would guess it is bad RAM James Collins

The RAM is not ECC SDRAM is it? Your board does not support ECC RAM. James Collins

I am not sure what the 16c is. Did you purchase ECC? James Collins
