Does any one know why ms prefers ntfs permission over share permission in a cluster enviroment?

Does share permission let you take ownership and quota's if you do not use ntfs permission.

Any links or feed back would be appreciated

You will find that if you set share permissions on a cluster, then these permissions will be lost if you have to restart the cluster. MS recommend NTFS permissions for this very reason.

Anyway, MS always recommends to use NTFS permissions with shares permissions set to everyone - Full control.

I like to think of shares as either on (everyone) or off (can't be seen on the network).

Then, set your ntfs permissions.
