I have just installed Active directory; and am looking to migrate our Exchange 5.5 mailboxes to Exchange 2003 on a new Windows 2003 server...
In preparation, I am attempting to run the ntdsatrb utility to look for potential mailbox migration issues. I get a "cannot connect to server" message each time I attempt to run the utility. I am sure I have the syntax correct; and am running the utility from a Windows 2000 server, with the Exchange service account.
Our Exchange 5.5. server is still a NT4 backup domain controller. Is this the problem? We are not utilizing dynamic dns registration, our primary dns zone is standard, not active directory integrated. We have entered only the SRV records for our one on line Active directory domain controller... (our former PDC) . Do I need to enter SRV records for the NT 4 BDC- can I do this? Has anyone experienced this problem before?
Any help or advice is much appreciated!
