Hello,
For the past 5 years we have use a Compaq DLT 40/80 for our daily backups, then all of the sudden it just died (Came in one day and there it was "belly-up" may it rest in peace ) So we removed the old DLT from the Windows 2003 backup server and went out and purchased a new Quantum Dat 72 tape drive . Which we promptly installed on the Windows 2003 backup server. Windows 2003 loaded up the new Quantum device with ease but NTbackup refuses to let go of the old DLT and acknowledge there is a new tape device to use. The system has been rebooted several times - but it seems that NTBackup refuses to let go.
So how can it get NTBackup to drop the old DLT and acknowldge the new DAT
Thanks
bob
