Using ntbackup batch mode on small NT Server 40 with Exchange Server 55, less than 20 GB total. Even though I am using the /e option, a log entry is made for every file backed up so the log file grows quickly. When it gets around 8 or 10 MB, the nightly backup starts hanging. Re-initializing the log file fixes the problem, but why isn't the /e option working?

The batch command is like this:

ntbackup backup c: d: e: DS \\servername IS \\servername /v /d "Daily Backup" /t Normal /l "c:\backup.log" /e

The backup works fine, (I have restored it to a hot server to validate) but once a month or so, it fails and needs a new log file.
