NTBackup: Extremely Slow.

I'm restoring 180GB of TIFF images to a new Dell PowerEdge 2500 Server (W2K; Dual 1.26ghz; 2gb Ram; RAID 5) using a Quantum SDLT220 and an Adaptec 39160 Controller. The backup was done using the standard Winnt Backup Utility, NTBackup. I'm restoring to a different Server than what was used for the backup, therefore must catalog the tape prior to restoring.

I'm halfway through the first tape and it looks like it's going to take 21 hours to restore each tape (about 1mb/sec).

Is anyone familiar with a technique/trick/tip to speedup this process?
