NT6P08AA Installation Questions

Hello Everyone,
I am a newbie when it comes to this and just twant to make sure I am correct. To install an addition 8 voice ports I just need to install the card in the first available slot from the left. Does the system need to be down or can it be install hot? I see where to go within Meridian Mail tools to view the ports etc.

power down. you can build the acd sets in the switch prior to adding the card,, cls agn and vma.. don;t copy or echg those.. then make sure when you add the ports under tools you match the tn/agent id and scr keys.. mermail allows you to add ports by just adding the 1st unit of a range.. that only works if you use sequential numbering for agent id's and scr keys..

do a partial and a complete backup prior to taking the mail down.. you need your original install tape and the working keycodes... if it will not boot or your new keycodes are bad, you need to restore to the as built... hopefully without re-typing all the customer data..


if you have a problem, do a new install, then restore the partial...if you try to use a full backup, it formats the harddrive, if you had a problem on the working os... your full backup is usless.. that's why i perfer a partial and a new install tape..

you can not reinstall with out the key codes.. you need to type them in about step 3 or 4..
