Iam researching options for migrating my NT4TS MetaFrame installation to a new hardware platform. This is approaching the limits of my technical expertise and after spending too much time on various scenarios I thought I would post a question here. I would like to use existing profiles and printer mappings but the new hardware precludes and backup restore. I have a clear idea of the criteria. Should I rebuild a fresh install?

Thanks

Bryan
PS Are there any Citrix techs could assit me as a consultant? Please contatct me with rates at:W639@hotmail.com

To "migrate" Windows NT of any flavour onto a different hardware platform would require a full re-installation.

That said, I have upgraded motherboard, processor and memory in a machine running Windows 2000 Advanced Server, with no ill effects - but I wouldn't do it on a server that a business relies on.

If the profiles are already set up on a separate file server, then there should be no problems keeping the current setup. If not, you should be able to copy the profile folders to a file server - but you'd need to update permissions, etc.

If you're in the UK, I can recommend Esteem as a good Citrix consultancy. I am not affiliated to them in any way, but have used their services in the past, and am simply passing on the recommendation as a satisfied customer.
I hope this helps
