We have an application (NT4 Server) that contains images (.jpg) that sends a selected image to a "receptor / TCP/IP listening" program on an NT4 Wkstn. The image is followed by a script to tell it how to display the image.
One particular image causes the receptor to lock and the Wkstn displays "out of memory" - We have sent larger and smaller images and the images are produced in exactly the same way.
On investigation we found that with this particular image TCP/IP breaks down the packets as normal but then for some reason) attempts to resend it as a whole - thus causing the "out of memory".
Our work around is to put a 100ms delay between sending the image and the script (less than 50ms and the same problem occurs).
Additionally we found no problem with NT4 Server - WIN98 or WIN98 - NT4 Server or WIN98 - WIN98
The work around is not acceptable ! - please help
