I have an NT4 server (SP6a) and an external modem on COM2. The modem is an OEM with a Rockwell Chipset (Rockwell 56k ACFII Fax_Data+Voice). Yes, I have the most currect drivers... It will not stay connected via dialup line. The disconnects appear to be random and I do not think it is excessive line noise. My laptop, plugged into the same cable used for the external modem, happily stays connected as long as I want. I think the modem is marginal and suspect that the Rockwell chipset may be the *real* problem working with NT. I am not looking for an excuse to buy another modem, but do not want to keep messing with a dying piece of hardware. The modem is about 4 years old. Any suggestions?

Thanks - PreacherTom
