I hope someone can suggest something here.....

We are in the process of migrating from an NT4 Domain to a Win 2003 Domain, All the users have been migrated, and also all of the groups

However I have found that we were using some permissions on our Fileserver using some of the Built In Groups in the NT4 Domain - eg Domain Admins.

I have found out that Built in Groups cannot be migrated - so we have a problem where anyone who was previously in Domain Admins cannot access File on our Server that is still in the NT4 Domain . Users who were in non built in groups are fine because the groups have migrated correctly.

The only method I can see of fixing this is to go through every folder and add permissions to a newly created group in the new WIn 2003 domain, unless anyone has any good ideas

cheers

I hate to say it, but your idea is about the best I can see. This is probably why (indirectly) they suggest creating your own Groups and adding these to Built-In Groups, rather than adding users directly into Built-In Groups! Don't get me wrong, I have added Users to the Built-In Users group before, and also to some others, and as we are about to upgrade too, am worried about this! ;)
But what you say makes sense with my knowledge of Built-in groups, and I can't think of any other way for you. Sorry.

hth,

Will
