I just upgraded my NT4 PDC to 2003 AD. Everything appears to be working fine. However, when I try to add a new 2003 AD server to the domain it says it cannot fine a domain controller. It is able to query its SRV record in DNS ok. Is this possible to add another AD server if I am running in Interim Mode with NT BDC still running? I wanted to have 2 AD servers running on the network before I removed the remaining NT BDCs.
Also, when I upgraded I used "domain.local" as our name space. Our exsiting domain name was single-named simply "domain". When I try to join a new machine to the domain it will not accept "domain.local", but "domain" will work instead. I alos need to have netbois enabled and the tcpip setting has to have a wins server defined on the workstation. Seems like this is a problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks
