I have a problem with my print server.
It has NT4 server and markvision printer utility loaded.
We set the printers up as a Lexmark Network Port and they use TCP/IP and work fine most of the time.
Intermittently an error pops up which states that there has been a Device I/O error on the device, and this gives us options of retry and cancel.
Retry just makes the error reappear and cancel cancels the job from the server and hence never comes out.
Starting and stopping the spooler service stops the error for a while and sometimes I have to revert to a reboot.
Has anybody had this error before.
If it helps our network printers are all Lexmark laser and col_jet models.

I get this message on my NT print server when the printer, but only when the printer itself needs attention. When we solve the problem at the printer (needs paper or is off line usualy) then the message goes away by itself.

hope this helps some?
