NT4 <> 2000 Comms Event ID 9318

We have an NT4 server and a 2000 server in the same site, both running Exchange 5.5. All communication between the two seems to be fine, but upon closer inspection of the Event Viewer Application Log on both machines I fine them full of Event ID 9318 Error Code 1722 warnings - communication problems when trying to talk to the other server in the site. These are the only two servers in the site.

Anyone seen this behaviour before? Any way of preventing the errors?

Thanks for that Doug. I had a good look through the Knowledge Base and found a lot of matches but nothing that helped. The article you found fixed it. I added an FQDN entry in the HOSTS file on both servers for the server it is trying to talk to. One reboot later and the errors disappeared.
