NT4 domain to XP pro workstation question

I have an NT4 domain, with NT4, W2K and 3 W2K3 member servers. I got in a new shipment of desktop pc's and they have XP pro on them. I configured them the way we normally do. Loaded necessary software and all was well. Last step, I went to manage the local pc, we make a particular NT domain group a member of the local pc's administrators group, and no matter what I do, it keeps bombing out! It makes an error with mmc.exe and netapi32.dll. I pulled a fresh pc out of the box, no software, no updates, no nothing. Added it to the domain and same issue. Is there a work around? Is this MS's way of saying I should go to 2003 and active directory? or am I missing something?

Thanks in advance!,

If Novell is involved at all, you need to go to their site for a resolution for this issue. See if the NT server is not in fact running an older Netware interface, or if you have installed a Netware client on the computer.

Since it is XP you can turn on remote desktop on the pc and logon remotly via microsofts remote desktop connection software.
