NT4 Domain & Exchange 2000?

IE
I have an NT4 domain, I do not wish to upgrade it to 2000 at this time is it possible for me to install a 2000 server running Exchange 2000 for the domain?

I don't think so because of the because Exchange 2000 uses the schema and it configurations. You can update your pdc and not your bdc's and still be able to revert back to the 4.0 domain.
