Nt setup difficulties 2

I am Currently trying to install NT4.0 on my recently aquired Netfinity 5500 8660-11U server. When the disk is inserted and setup begins it says that there are no hard disks found. I went to the makers site to get all my driver updates eg: serveraid, bios vs. 13, advanced manager ect and also the ibm nt setup instructions. However I am not able to load any of these drivers. Any suggestions??????

I think from memory is it not F6 during setup to specify alternative drivers?

Had this issue with many IBM Netfinity Servers when loading from the Microsoft OS CD. You do want to use the F6 button to specify and load the driver for the controller. The only problem is if you use the F6 when the OS load asks you to, it doesn't work. Here is what you do - boot from the OS CD, when you first see the first blue screen where files start to load, hold down the F6 button. Wait till the internal speaker starts beebing then let go of the button. During the setup you will be prompted to load the driver from a floppy disk. As you go through the setup you will be prompted to hit F6 again (to specify drivers) as it is a step in the normal OS setup process, Ignore this step as you have already done it. Very solid servers but IBM has there own way of doing things. Another thing, this can all be avoided if you use the IBM setup disks that came with the server.

Great!!! It all worked out---- I wasn't loading the SCSI controller driver correctly so there wasn't anything for it to go off of. Thanks for the help!!!!!!
