NT Service Vs Task Scheduling with VBScript File

I need to deploy a scheduled script for running certain operations daily on our web server. These scripts will be accessing remote POP3 mailboxes and databases. I wanted to go ahead with using VB program and deploy it as NT Service but going by the microsoft site, which does not recommend it, i am thinking about using Task Scheduler using VBScript(.vbs) file. I have done task scheduling before using .vbs file but i wanted to make sure the solution i am choosing is robust, an any one suggest the best option out of these and the reasons why this is the best?
