NT Servers with sevral nbsessions to other machines.

Hello:

I received a puzzling e-mail today from an administrator that I have a 2-way NT trust with. He says he shows 2 of my NT 4.0 servers connected to several of his servers & workstations. The intersting thing is that 90% of his users do not touch anything on my network. Does anyone know why this would be occurring? I show nothing unusual in the event log, however when I do a netstat on these servers, I see several netbios sessions to several machines all over the network not just his domain but mine as well as machines in a another domain I have a 2-way trust with.

Any assistance anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Check name resolution. If some other machines in the network think that they are master browser, they will try to connect to different machines in order to get the information necessary for the domain to do full browsing of both domains. You may need to do registry changes to force the selection of which Machine is a Master Browser.
